                                                Oral History Artwork Contest
Mohave County Library's Oral History Artwork Contest is open to Mohave County residents of all ages!  The goal of this contest is to select artwork from a local resident for the cover art and promotion of the Mohave County Library Oral History Collection.
 
Local residents can contribute one 8 X 10 art piece to be judged by the selection committee.  The selected semi-finalist's work will be posted online where it can be voted on by the public to determine the winner.

Capturing Arizona's Stories
Capturing Arizona's Stories aims to introduce Arizonans to oral histories and promote their use in the community.  Oral history and storytelling programs can help create individual and community relationships through the learning and sharing of experiences.
 
To keep Arizona's oral record alive, the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records (ASLPR) has teamed up with 10 libraries from around the state to set up community oral history projects and collect the results as part of centennial celebration.
 
Centennial Information
On February 14, 1912, after nearly 29 years as a U. S. territory and thousands of years as a sacred home to indigenous peoples.  Arizona became the 48th state and the last of the contiguous states to enter the Union of the United States of America.
 
Nearly 10 decades later, the Arizona Centennial Commission has begun planning a celebration of Arizona's 100th anniversary of statehood, which ocurs February 14, 2012.
