FRIENDS OF THE LAKE HAVASU CITY LIBRARY NEWSLETTER

Dear Friends,

Wonderful news! Our Teen Center is actually under construction and due to be completed sometime in June. We are all excited that our LHC teens will soon have a safe refuge for their energies, fun times and positive development. I toured the space last week and can guarantee that our kids will be able to enjoy music, games, movies, books, great ideas and vending machine snacks right in their own space (and behind sound proof glass panels) under the encouragement and mentorship of our Youth Services Staff. Please help us spread the word that our Friends of the Lake Havasu Library is now accepting donations and raising funds to assist with enhancements for the Teen Center that will not be covered in the county budget. Contact me at bonniecampbell@citlink.net with offers of donations or invitations to speak to community groups.

This is my last president's letter as my tenure is up as president effective June 30. Always a firm believer that presidents should not linger long, I want to send all good wishes and pledges of support to our next president. I want to thank you all for the encouragement, suggestion and cooperation shown me during the past two years, and I'll be seein' ya!

NEWSLETTER NEWS

We have a new, clean look to our newsletter with our Friends of the Library logo! In order to reduce operating costs the newsletter will now be sent out 3 times a year instead of the previous 4 times. It has been called to our attention that some of our members prefer not to receive mail year round and we have a solution to that. Starting with this issue our Newsletter will be on the Mohave County Library Website!

Any member that would rather read it there can access it at www. mohavecountylibrary.info and let us know to remove you from the mailing list. It will be available the middle of the months of April, August and December.

 NOW ENTERING
THE T-ZONE

We have had lots of fun here in the T-Zone lately. We have had several early release programs over the past couples months. Teen Technology week was March 7th - March 13th.  We celebrated by having fun with different types of technology. Our favorite part of Teen Technology Week was getting to play the wii! We rocked out to many different Rockband games and made silly crafts out of duck tape. We are getting really excited about the arrival of the Teen Center. Construction has begun and we can't wait for it to be completed! We look forward to all the new things it will bring!
